Data Collected

Dansstudio Balance collects and stores the following information from you: name, address, date of birth, email address, and phone number.

We use this information for:

These details are necessary for the agreement between the student and the dance school.

The name is used to register the student in the relevant class; the address allows us to send letters regarding payment or pre-registration; the date of birth determines whether the student is placed in an adult, children’s, or teen class and helps calculate the applicable VAT percentage; the email address is used to provide occasional updates regarding holidays, new classes, the start of the new season, and the annual dance performance; the phone number is used to contact the student if needed.

City Pass and Youth Fund

Data shared with the municipality for the City Pass and with the Youth Fund for Sport & Culture Noord-Holland (formerly the Youth Culture Fund Haarlem) is not stored by the dance school.

Withdrawing Consent

If you prefer not to be contacted via email, you can indicate this through our website or Mailchimp. We will then cease emailing you. You can also reinstate this preference at any time.

We Operate Securely

Dansstudio Balance takes all necessary steps to secure your data. Your information is stored in both paper and digital files, accessible only to authorized staff. We do not sell, publish, reproduce, or share your information with third parties unless we have your explicit consent or are legally required to do so.

Data Retention

Stored data will be kept for seven years per applicable tax law before it is destroyed. During this time, you have the right to request, view, and, if necessary, correct or supplement your stored data. If you make such a request, we will fulfill it as soon as possible.

Regarding Freelancers and Interns

Dansstudio Balance retains contracts, personal data, bank account numbers, and invoices for teachers and interns for seven years to comply with tax law.

Media Content

During registration, you will be asked if you consent to the use of images of yourself or your child. Such material may include video or photography from dance classes and the annual dance performance. Dansstudio Balance may share this media on social channels such as Facebook, TikTok, Instagram, on flyers, and on their website. Names of students will not be mentioned. Any previously given consent can be withdrawn at any time during or after the course. If you have concerns about already published material, you may let us know.

Click Behavior and Web Statistics

Dansstudio Balance monitors click behavior on their website and the frequency of visits. We keep general data, such as the most visited pages, browsing behavior, and the visitor’s browser type. Web statistics help us improve the information provided and the navigation structure. This data is not traceable to you, and your identity remains protected.
